After Yellowstone, it seemed only reasonable that we would go and look at some more recent activity in terms of volcanoes - a mere 2000 or so years ago. Thought it would be a quick trip through, but the fascination kept us there for hours. This eerie landscape is really quite something, and tiny little wildflowers of all colours are taking advantage of the smallest amount of soil to create a colourful carpet in some places. Quite amazing.
Bill and Lozza walked through the lava tunnels and Lozza climbed to the top of a pile of volcanic ash, where she took photos for Nan and Pop who were resting at the bottom!
